    Abstract
The propose of this research is to analysis the effectiveness of ultrasonic pulse velocity method to the concrete structure bonded with lightning protection cable. Next to determine the influence of existing rebar in column checking using this method. Finally, to investigate the effect of the difference transducer spacing to the ultrasonic reading. The test had been done on reinforcement concrete column. There are several parameters of this research which is the ultrasonic pulse will be test on the column bonded will LPS and without LPS, Secondly, difference of transducers location such as on bar and off bar. Lastly, the test had been run the difference spacing of transducer where two difference spacing had been choosing which is 150mm and 200mm. This research had been done on two difference environmental which is site investigation and laboratory test. The propose of laboratory test is to be a guideline for tis research as they are in control environmental condition. Therefore, reinforce concrete column specification using R16 as steel reinforcement, Y16 as link and using concrete grade 30. The column dimension was 250mm width × 250mm height × 900mm length. For the site investigations, Oran ’site at Arau, Perlis has been selected as in this research. This because of the building at the site was built using the concept of imbedded a lightning protection cable on concrete column. Secondly, the construction site is located in the state of Perlis, so ease to access to the site project. The results showed a gross average rate test site in terms of avoidance bar shows the reading of 1925 m/s. Meanwhile, on bars reading is 1400 m/s. In addition, laboratory tests show abnormalities reading. The rate of gross readings to avoid reading the bar is 3000 m/s and read bar attendance is 2010 m/s. In conclusion, reading from laboratory and field tests indicate the presence of a bar in the pole will affect ultrasonic readings.
