    Abstract
This research is conducted in other to prevent environmental pollution and consider the source of construction material that become decreasing nowadays. The modified sand brick using crumb rubber tyre as fine aggregate for sand brick was investigated in this research was the development of a new innovative and low cost of building material that is composed of crumb rubber tyre where is widely available and extremely cheap resource. The main aim of this research is to compare the physical properties and engineering properties between standard sand brick and modified sand brick. Other than that, the aim of this research also to study the relationship between the physical properties and engineering properties of standard sand brick and modified sand brick. The physical properties of this modified sand brick including colours, density and water absorption test. Meanwhile, the engineering properties of modified sand brick including 28 days of compressive strength and flexural test. The specimen of the brick prepared in this research is standard sand brick named as CSB and modified sand brick with 2.5%, 5% and 7.5%, proportion of crumb rubber tyre known as RSB1, RSB2, RSB3. The ratio of the sand brick used in this research is 1:6, which stands for 1 part of cement and 6 part of sand. As the result, RSB1 has almost similar result with the standard sand brick from the aspect of engineering properties or physical properties.
