    Abstract
Construction industry is acknowledged as one of the industries that contribute to major deflection on environment. The negative impacts of construction industry have been discussed on several issues such as consuming high energy consumption, destruction on landscape and create health and safety problem. In order to mitigate worse scenario, the concept of sustainability was introduced which focused on conserving the environment and sustaining prosperity in development. Similarly, the construction industry has been urged to implement the concepts and principles of sustainability in order to solve these issues to mitigate or at least minimize its negative impacts on environment and human. Therefore, it requires the involvement of construction organizations to change the way towards the green technology constructions. However, before making any changes it is important to know the readiness of the contractor to green technology. The purpose of this research is to assess the readiness level of the contractor to green technology, identify main factors that related to contractor’s readiness based on awareness, triggers and potential barriers and identify the awareness level based on the demographic profiles of the contractors. 60 questionnaires was used to conduct this research. The data obtained from this study were analyzed using descriptive analysis and one-way ANOVA. The results show that the contractor readiness to use green technology is still in moderate level and could be categorize as explorer which easy to attract to new technology and represent the first to explore it in line with identifying contractors awareness on the need for implementation of green technology practice. Overall, the findings of the study is quiet consistent with previous studies.
