Design a rice transplanter for cultivation using system of rice intensification
Abstract
This project focuses on the design SRI Transplanter developed after reviewing the problems faced by farmers in the rice fields during the process of transplanting seedlings into the paddy field. System of Rice intensification (SRI) has been practiced all over the world in quite a new and just less than 50 years, while Malaysia is only in recent years has been the attention and focus. Based on the practice in previous years, SRI practices need to be done by hand, especially during the process of planting seedlings to rice fields and caused by it, the demand for the use of machinery is required. Exhaustion applies to farmers as a result of the transfer of rice seedlings repeatedly had to bend and when it leads to bad health. The project was designed to be implemented for the process of planting rice seedlings in SRI among farmers. Finite element analysis software is used to identify failures that will happen to a design created and to find the best design and efficient. The calculation is done to determine the size of the timing wheel and RPM. Motion analysis was performed to analyze the relationship between movement and the timing wheel. Steel material is selected among the main reasons is to cut costs, as the cost of steel products on the market are priced lower than others. The mechanism used to drop rice seedlings is the link and slider. The design of this latest SRI transplanter which can plant just a seedling in one place. It also prevents and eliminates injuries and shock to the roots of rice seedlings. In the event a surprise at the root of rice seedlings can overcome the growth of rice seedlings undisturbed and not effected, and the rice production rates can be increased
