    Abstract
The research focused on the effect of different type of antioxidant (uncaria gambir and phenolic) with various filler loading ( 0,3,6,9 phr) on mechanical and thermal ageing properties of latex. The NRL films undergoes material characterization and compounding. Each of the different formulation undergoes pre-vulcanization process in water bath. After the natural rubber latex mixed others compunding material followed the formula given, it undergoes a process of stirring at room temperature, stirring at 50 oC water bath, chloroform no.3 testing, cooling, maturation, casting and curing. Finally, 7 latex films filled antioxidant (control sample and 3 ratio of antioxidant in 3, 6, 9 phr) is completed. Then, each of the natural rubber latex films were prepared according to the specific dimension provided for each of the testing. Testing that be done is tensile test, swelling test and thermal ageing test. The performance of uncaria gambir as a new antioxidant was determined. The tensile test showed that the tensile strength of NRL films with uncaria gambir as antioxidant is better than phenolic antioxidant. Tensile strength was increased with increasing of antioxidant loadings. Swelling test shown that crosslink percentage for NRL films contains of phenolic antioxidant has higher crosslink density compared with uncaria gambir antioxidant. While, thermal ageing properties of NRL films contains of uncaria gambir as antioxidant is better compared with phenolic antioxidant.
