    Abstract
The task given is to process the pegmatite ore and to extract the minerals from the ore independently that is taken from Bukit Mor, Muar, Johor. The first step is to crush the pegmatite ore using jaw and cone crusher from its bulk form. The crushed ore then is grounded with ring mill to produce an ore product within the range of particle size -300 um + 45 um. Then, magnetic separation method is used to extract the magnetic minerals such as iron and mica from non-magnetic minerals such as feldspar and quartz. The magnetic separation is conducted by using double disk magnetic separator with the current for first disk is constant while the second disk is increasing. The product is divided into two which is magnetic and non-magnetic product. Lastly, the flotation method is conducted to extract the two remaining minerals that left which are feldspar and quartz. The flotation method used chemical substance as modifier to modify the surface characteristics of the minerals. Modifiers that are used in this flotation method are Duomeen TDO as collector, Aero 65 as frother and sulphuric acid as pH modifier. This project is done in hopes of helping industry ceramics and glass to reduce production costs due to their widespread use of feldspar and silica.
