Premix waste as a partial replacement of aggregate in concrete
Abstract
Premix waste (PW) as a partial replacement of aggregate in concrete. Three
percentages to investigate PW as a partial replacement of aggregate which is 20%,
30% and 50% of PW. Slump test and compressive test will carried out in order to
investigate the strength of concrete. The objectives of this study is to determine the
strength of concrete containing premix waste as aggregate replacement and to
compare compressive strength of normal concrete and premix waste concrete.
Laboratory process is premix residue was taken and brought to the laboratory,
crushing process is done by using a hammer. Waste sifted premix according to the
aggregate size of 5 to 50mm. After the sieves used according to the size of
aggregates, ready to process the concrete. Based on the test result, 20% of PW the
higher strength which is 35.75 MPa of compressive test than other percentages which
is 30% and 50%, 33.84 MPa and 28.73 MPa. Moreover, normal concrete is the best
of strength and higher than three percentages of PW. The research study has achieved
and fulfillsit’s purpose. Thus it can be concluded by referring to the data obtained
that the Premix Waste is suitable to use as aggregate replacement in concrete
production.
