    Abstract
In today's modern era, land is quite limited for development. This deficiency leads to the development of land in areas involving slopes and hilly. Development usually involves a lot of work such as cutting and embankment slopes. Retaining wall is one of alternative way usually used to stabilize slopes for safety purposes. This program was focused on the analysis of the design; this design is based on BS 8110 and Eurocode 2 using Microsoft Excel. This program is designed to simplify the design process and reduce errors compared to manual designs. Results of this study were used to determine the appropriate type and the differences weather it designed using British Standard or Eurocode. Thus, the retaining wall is dependent on an analysis of the effect of changes in soil properties in terms of the angle of friction, and assuming the internal dimensions. In the design stage, the users only need to key-in the main dimensions of the retaining wall, soil parameters and surcharges. Moment and shear force is determined from the input data, the results will be used to determine the stability, shear forces and detailed design purposes. In conclusion, this program was allowed users to select the type of retaining wall to design either type of inverted-T, L type and shear key type used these two codes of practice British Standard or Eurocode. Users can be differentiated the two designs using this program and to identify the types of retaining walls that are suitable according to their stability.
