C loads are supplied by main source continuously. Sometimes, main source fails caused of short circuit, fault, equipment problems from main source supply but the load have to run. For this case another source is needed. Nowadays an uninterruptible power system (UPS) has been widely used to protect various sensitive electrical equipments such as computers, workstations, telecommunications systems, internet data centers, and process control systems. The UPS protects them from problems associated with utility power of poor quality, or a complete loss of power. Furthermore, a UPS can also perform other functions such as improving the quality of the power to the critical load. In the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system, the failure of main source can be solved by UPS Inverter. Normally, in the UPS system, the battery is charge using battery charger from main source, but in this research the battery will be charge using solar charger from Photovoltaic (PV). In this research, switch controller will be done by microcontroller PIC16F628A. Project shows the successful results in design solar charger and design switching controller of UPS using microcontroller PIC16F628A, meant it’s achieved project objective. Testing shows system functions properly as needed. The reading of AC load voltages and currents ares shows the good result. This experiment was tested at Research Cluster UniMAP, Kangar, Perlis.en_US
