dc.description.abstractThis study involved a study on the water quality of the fish farm around Perlis. The water sample from selected fish farm bring back to the laboratory and test all parameter involve in determine the water quality. The sample is collect from different pond and different type of feed given to the fish. Levels of key constituents such as Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), pH value, Ammonical Nitrogen (AN), Temperature and Turbidity were determined every two weeks. This study invovled the fish pond from three difference places which the water sample will be taken from fish pond at Sungai Batu Pahat, Mata Ayer and water from Timah Tasoh lake as the control. The selection of the pond were based on the type of the fish feed. For pond at Sungai Batu Pahat the fish feed use is the pallet. Water quality parameters were analyzed in the water samples according to the APHA (1995). For Sungai Batu Pahat pond and it source, the average DO, BOD, COD,AN,pH, Temperature and Turbidity values were 2.62 and 4.42 mg/L, 4.37 and 4.54 mg/L, 26.33 and 5.47 mg/L, 0.77 and 0.23 mg/L, 8.17 and 7.43, 29.84 and 28.25 ºC, 170.10 and 10.36 NTU. For Aqua Berangan Enterprise pond and it source the average DO, BOD, COD,AN,pH, Temperature and Turbidity values were 2.68 and 7.91 mg/L, 4.09 and 4.25, 51.47and 13.43 mg/L, 0.69 and 0.13 mg/L, 8.34 and 8.37, 30.01 and 26.56 ºC, 45.53 and 3.86 NTU. The main factor that affects the water quality of the pond is feed type. For Sungai Batu Pahat pond, they use only feed pallet but Aqua Berangan Enterprise pond they use various type of feed type because they provide the fishing activity there.en_US
