The high-power rope light application
is designed and developed based on embedded
controller that integrated with I/O ports, flash
memory and analog I/O ports. The recent
technology of rope light application is mostly low
power, limited length LED rope light capability
and difficulty in synchronization of LED light
pattern for long distance application. The project
design consists of single phase uncontrolled
rectifier, silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR) power
module, snubber protection, embedded
microcontroller and rope light LED. This project
capable to control up to 2 kilometers distance of
LED rope light, overcome the synchronization
problem, minimize the maintenance cost,
programmable and capable to prevent surge AC
current and voltage. Experimental results are
presented and compared to verify the effectiveness
of the proposed controller for high-power rope
light application.
