Technical study of digital display using Peripheral Interface Controller (PIC) microcontroller based system
Abstract
Digital display system is the most
popular technology and most compatible with the
embedded system devices. The word digital is
most commonly used in computing and
electronics, especially where real-world
information is converted to binary numeric form
as in digital audio and digital photography. The
development of digital display system has allowed
the introduction of many new digital technologies
in mechatronics and robotics industry. In some
application, the digital display system can be used
to display the digital value on advanced integrated
peripherals such as Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)
and graphical integrated display. This paper
focuses on the design of digital display system
using Peripheral Interface Controller (PIC)
microcontroller and development of display
programming for PIC microcontroller. The study
of digital display using embedded system is
addressed and simulation of interfacing
microcontroller to LCD panel is discussed in this
paper. The operation of this system is based on the
programming techniques conducted by PIC
microcontroller and display the output on LCD
panel. As a result, the programming techniques are
modulated on digital display system. This paper
also highlights the research on microcontroller
based system and deals with the fundamental
issue: techniques of programming of
microcontroller for new display technology.
