Security has become our greatest safety concern in the 21st century due to ever increasing crime rates and severity. This has prompted identification of persons with crime history, however, with the most affordable price and performance. Optical face contour analysis is a technique to achieve this with the above mentioned merits. In its simplest form, all it needs are three essential components, a camera, projector and a computer. This gives it mobility, processing power, and on-the-fly enhancements. Figure 1 depicts a typical setup (Sai Sivagorthi and Pramod Rastogi, Applied Computing and Mechanics Laboratory, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Switzeland). Figure 2 is the result of face Contour Analysis carried out at LiLa, SoME.
