dc.description.abstractThe Securities Industry Development Centre (SIDC) is the education and training arm of the Securities Commission (SC) and the SIDC Library serves both SC staff and the securities industry. The SIDC Library is a specialised library with its resources focused on the capital market. This paper provides an insight into the promotional activities of SIDC Library services for its internal and external users. It presents a concerted marketing effort to promote the value of quality library services and resources through marketing product differentiation approaches. This is done through enhanced research activities, library orientation programmes for new users, user education efforts for clearer instructions on the use of online databases, and selective dissemination of information through networking with users. All these activities and programmes in turn provide the library with feedback on users' information needs and helped set the focus of the collection development activities and the efforts put in for selective dissemination of research information to the users.en_US
