Alumina (Al2O3) nanoparticles were successfully synthesized via sol gel method at different sintering temperature using aluminum nitrate and citric acid with molar ratio 0.5 C/N. The alumina nanoparticles were characterized by SEM and XRD followed by copper analysis by AAS. The XRD analysis result showed that average crystallite size at 10-49 nm was obtained. The SEM information observed the irregular angular in shape with significantly similar size among the samples. AAS showed that alumina nanoparticles have a potential as absorbent material for removal heavy metal ion.en_US
