Effective strategies need to be developed by these companies in order to remain competitive in the business. The importance of business information is highlighted as a strategic resource for the business planners and decision makers in the oil and gas industry to make better informed decisions for effective strategy formulation. A review of literature on previous studies undertaken on the use of business information in large companies in Britain shows that information still plays a vital role as one of the determinants of business success. In one study conducted by the British Library on the importance of information to each class of respondents in large companies it was found out that competitor intelligence scored highly of all across all respondents. Key elements in PETRONAS Corporate Agenda are briefly described. Petroleum Resource Centre (PRC) core capabilities need to be optimized to realign itself with the Corporate Agenda. Various options, strategies, and Framework relating to Information Management to realign itself with the Corporate Agenda are presented.en_US
