Final Year Project (FYP) was carried out to determine the feed additive concentration to promote optimum growth of Red Tilapia. The project starts by setting up the system. The system set was a simple aeration system for aquarium tank. A total of 10 aquariums of 25 litres capacity were used. One tank was set as control tank. 3 type of feed with different feed additive concentration was prepared by spraying 3 feed with 3 different feed additive concentrations, 0.1%, 0.5% and 1.0%. The feed containing feed additive solution was prepared by spraying the feed with solution x. The feed with no feed additive was set as control. The fish were feeds two times a day (9 a.m.) and (5 p.m.). The amount of feeds given was based on 6% fish bodyweight. 3% of the feeds were given on the morning while the other 3% in the evening. A total of 10 fish were put into each aquarium. The average weight of the fish was measured by using electronic weighing scale. Before the fish were put into the aquarium, the water quality index in each aquarium was measured first. The parameter take into consideration were pH, salinity, ammonia, nitrate and nitrite. The water quality index was measured by using YSI. The values obtained from the 3 laboratory equipment were compared. The water quality index was checked 2 times per week to make sure that the water quality is always in the preferred level for the fish. When the water quality index reach undesirable level, 20% of the water from the aquarium will be changed and replaced with the new one. The percentage of feed gave to the fish also were reduced the more the fish grow. Thus the bigger the fish grow the less amount of feed were prepared. At the end of the experiment, the growth rate of the Red Tilapia was measured. From the data collected, the best drying period was selected.en_US
