Direct torque control (DTC) of Switched reluctance motor is known to have simple control structure with comparable performance. However, the role of optimal
selection of the voltage space vector is one of the weakest points in a conventional DTC drive. In this paper optimal selection of
voltage space vectors is achieved using GA based neural network. Simulations results validate the proposed intelligent system with fast torque and flux response with minimized torque and flux ripple.

Fuzzy variable structure control with reduced-order observer for micro satellite stabilization in space
Nagarajan, R.; Muhajir, Rahim (Universiti Malaysia Perlis, 2009-10-11)This paper presents a hybrid form of control which has both Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC) and Variable Structure Control (VSC) integrated. This proposed Fuzzy Variable Structure Control (FVSC) approach combines the power of ... -
Comparison between state feedback and variable structure control of Magnetically Suspended Balance Beam (MSBB) system
Fijay, Fauzi; Ismail, Daut; Abdul Rashid, Husain; Mohamad Noh, Ahmad (Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), 2007-05-29)This paper presents the control of Magnetically Suspended Balance Beam (MSBB)system using Integral Sliding Mode Control (ISMC). The MSBB is a balancing system that use two magnetic coils to balance the beam. The use of ... -
