The wing is a major component that contributes in aircraft lifting. It is wise to study on the structural behavior and the forces that might be acting on these parts
in order to get the maximum desired performance. For this purpose, a test rig for a wing was develop and a structural
analysis of this test rig must be installed in detailed design of it in order to make the structure can withstand all the forces
applied. A small portion of the test rig will be studied and analyzed on this project. This project studies on the forces
acting on the mounting plate of a wing box test stand with approach of finite element method with the aid of ANSYS 5.7 and ANSYS 11.0. The displacements, stresses, strains,
and forces in structures will be determined using Structural Static Analysis. The element used in this project is SOLID95
(Solid- brick 20node95) and the material for this wing mounting plate is mild steel. To get a maximum result that can withstand a specified load condition, several models of
wing mounting plate are discussed. The final results are compared. This project provide a specific dimensions and model of wing mounting plate for the development of wing
box test stand which will be installed in Aerospace Lab, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam, Malaysia.
