Improvement in leaching process for natural rubber latex production of Urethral Foley Catheter
Abstract
Urethral catheters of natural rubber latex were soaked in distilled water with two types of flow water pipes which are at the top of the tank (upwards) and at the bottom of the tank (downwards). The effects of soaking in the extractable protein content and pH
water of the urethral catheter according the time were investigated. Design downwards
of flow water pipe was believed to be effective in reducing the extractable protein
content by leaching out the extractable from NRL. Results showed that extractable
protein content reduced with increasing time, but the amount of EP will increase when
the urethral catheters soaking in water too long in the water contains the EP. Protein
content was reduced, especially when the pH of the solution was 7 and the direction of
flow water pipe is
