dc.description.abstract | Hydroelectric is the energy that produces from the water as the main source. Nowadays,
people start to find the alternative way to reduce the electricity bill by using natural
resources as alternative energy such as wind and solar to generate electricity. However,
both systems are not suitable for all areas and locations. Therefore, this project is an idea to
develop a small scale hydroelectric generator system by using consuming water distributed
to houses as an alternative electrical energy source for home use. The water pressure and
flow inside the pipe from water tank is used to rotate the hydro turbine to drive the
mechanical shaft. Kinetic energy is produced by the movement of turbine. The energy will
be converted into electrical energy. Besides supplying water for home, water tank can also
act as the source of incoming water to generate electricity by using turbine. This electricity
produced play role as the backup energy and power supply when there is failure in utility
system. This hydroelectric generator will produce small scale energy and to be stored in 1.5
V rechargeable batteries. The battery next can be used for other simple electronic devices. | en_US |
