Alternating current (AC Motor) motor play a major role in the world today because of its ability that do heavy work, around the clock operation and can be use in all type of environment. In industrial sector, AC motors has been used for decades because it is reliable, low-cost, and highly efficient and have long life span. AC motor also has long been use in home appliance such as washing machine and conventional fan. Further research and design of the AC motor control system has to be done to enhance its ability so this system can be used for wider application. These final year project is focusing on designing and developing an AC motor drive using a Pulse Width System (PWM) system. This system creates new approach of AC motor control design and development because this system eliminates all disadvantages in conventional motor control system. MC3PHAC have been selected as a circuit processor base on its advantages in cost, simplicity, robustness, and features. This single chip intelligent controller that generate PWM signal designed specifically to meet the requirement for low cost variable, 3-phase AC motor control system. It requires no feed-back system, also and save a lot of energy if the system is being used accordingly. AS a part of design method, driver circuit have been simulated by using PSIM software to represent AC motor control with the same principal of MC3PHAC motor control.en_US
