Nowadays, many presentations require relatively simple control of the computer during the actual presentation. A device for direct control of presentation using the control of laser beam is presented. System implementation is examined to help presenters to carry out the presentation without the need of direct contact with the computer. Algorithm is developed by using image processing to detect the laser beam. This project focus on the detection and tracking of laser beam on their characteristics to distinguish laser beam from other areas on the input image which is the captured image. The behaviour of the laser beam is translated into signals sent to the mouse input of the computer causing the same as if they came from the mouse. The system is implemented using Visual Basic. Other than that, hardware modification are also discussed in this project. Experimental results showed that the proposed method can synchronize the movement of laser beam and mouse cursor.en_US
