In this project, the coexistence between IEEE 802.11b and IEEE 802.15.4 networks are analyzed. The existence of IEEE 802.11b could interfere and affect the reliability of data transmission in the IEEE 802.15.4 networks. When both standard use a frequency channel that are overlapping, the results show that the packet transmissions of the IEEE 802.15.4 are interfered by IEEE 802.11b networks. However, the transmission of data without any injection of traffic, the overlapping channel cause small percentage of packet error in the IEEE 802.15.4 networks. The quality of signal are influenced by the transmitting channel. When IEEE 802.15.4 use channel frequency that overlaps with the IEEE 802.11b, the packet loss rate arise up to 6.93% for increasing send data rate, 23.05% for increasing number of user and 22.85% for addition of 2 access point with increasing number of user. The project will involve programming, data collection and data analysis. This thesis studies the performance analysis of coexistence between IEEE 802.15.4 and IEEE 802.11b in 2.4GHz ISM frequency spectrum.en_US
