Designing and constructing a circularly polarized microstrip patch antenna at GSM band is the main objective in this project. The design of this antenna is made by using CST Design Microwave 2010. The antenna consists of three layers which are the ground, substrates and patch. Ground plane and patch are made from copper while the substrate is from Rogers 5880. In this project, the design that had been fabricated is rectangular patch antenna at a frequency 1.8 GHz. To produce a circular polarization antenna, the opposite edges of the patch need to be truncated. Based on the simulation result, circularly polarized characteristics for the design were achieved due to axial ratio value that is below than 3dB. The return loss of the microstrip antenna at the fundamental frequency is below than -10dB for an effective antenna. All the parameters such as return loss, input impedance, axial ratio, and also VSWR were measured to fulfilled the antenna requirement for the best performance.en_US
