dc.description.abstract | A microstrip patch antenna of operating frequencies 2.45 GHz is proposed for wireless
communication system application. It has a one port excited with microstip line feed
mechanism. The proposed antenna consists of a single layer patch antenna with one
horizontal slot designed that can be controlled via varactor switches. By adjusting the
status of the switches state either ON or OFF mode in simultaneously, the radiation
pattern can be varied, thus achieving the radiation reconfigurable. A comprehensive
parametric study has been carried out to understand the effect of various dimensional
parameters (slot and varactor switches) and to optimize the performance of the antenna.
This antenna is capable to achieve return loss less than -10dB and radiation pattern is
making a multi-beam when the switches are ON mode. The designed antenna has also
using Taconic-TLY 5 for substrate and simulates the result of return loss (S11) using
CST Microwave Studio software. The proposed antenna is very promising for various
modern communication applications. | en_US |
