dc.description.abstract | A multi sintering temperature of hydroxyapatite (HA) will give an affect not only for the shape, composition and arrangement of the microstructure, but also to a high impact on mechanical properties of those samples. Natural and synthetic HA adding with Alumina separately, will change a mechanical properties of pure HA to make it suitable apply to many medical application nowadays. A using of natural HA will go through with a heat treatment of cow bone to remove an impurities and protein to avoid it affected a properties of final samples. It’s different by using a synthetic HA, where this powder is then mix with
alumina as an additive, PEG as a binder and Calgon as anti-agglomerate. Both type of HA
will prepare using a wet method and roll the mixing on the ball milling for 16 hours.
Mixing is then dry in oven for 3 hours and crush also sieve to get fine particles. Granulation is spraying on bulk mixing for 8-10% before it compact with 50MPa using un-axial load. A dense sample is dry in oven and after sinter at 1150oC and 1200oC before it will test their density and porosity, flexural test (MOR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopic (SEM). TGA/DTA and also Malvern Mastersizer analysis is done to measure a characterization of materials before sinter. From both HA used, synthetic HA will give a
higher density and strength when it sinter at higher temperature. | en_US |
