Due to the high dielectric constant, barium titanate (BT) has many potential applications in electronic industry. This paper focuses on the effect of different ratio between barium (Ba) and titanium (Ti) to the production of high purity BT. In this research, the sample was prepared by solid-state reac-tion between barium carbonate (BaCO3) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) powder at constant sintering tem-perature 1350 °C. The sample was prepared at different ratio of Ba:Ti which are 1:0.9, 1:0.95, 1:1, 1:1.05 and 1:1.1 All sintered BT were characterized using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Elec-tron Microscope (SEM) and Impedance Spectroscopy (IS). All existed phase on these samples were determined and analyzed. Sample from S2, S3, S4 and S5 produced almost a single phase BT. While; sample from S1 produced secondary phase which is barium orthotitanate (Ba2TiO4). From SEM result, the microstructure of sintered BT is agglomerated. Sample from S3 (1:1) shows the highest value of dielectric constant.
