dc.description.abstract | Optical fiber communication system nowadays is a fast growing mechanism to sent information signal. Unfortunately there are several limitation that makes the data signal that been sent unreliable. These problems are more severe when sending information signal over long distance. The main objective of this project is to study and analyse the effect of EDFA in WDM system. Basically this project consists of calculation, design and simulation using
simulation software called OptiSystem 6.0. From the calculation, we know the required
gain for EDFA for a particular design system of using communication link. This is called
link budget analysis. While simulation part shows that the calculation before is correct
hence to analyse the effect of EDFA in WDM system. Other than that, this project also
analyses the noises that occur in system.
A simulation tool called OptiSystem 6.0 is practical and reliable software to design
and analyze the WDM system design. The design must as close as possible to the real
situation. Some parameters has been considered in order to see the output result like design parameters and performance parameters. | en_US |
