The effect of pollution production in gas burner system using Flat Vane Axial Air Swirler
Abstract
A liquid fuel burner system with Flat Vane axial air swirler with vane angle of 20°
and 60° has been investigated using combustor. Flange plates with 40mm (4cm)
were inserted at the back plate of swirler outlet. All tests were conducted using Butane
gas. Fuel was injected at an upstream position of the swirler outlet using gas torch that function as a central fuel injector. Experiment has been carried out to compare temperature profiles and the one better use to decrease the pollution using pollution measurement between two different swirler vane angles (20°and 60°). The overall study shows that bigger swirler vane angle produce a higher temperature profile and less pollution compared to the smaller swirler vane angle, swirler vane angle also influences the stability of the flame and also the swirl flow.
