Difference of quality technique and how it been adopted
Abstract
This project is conducted in order to know the differences between quality techniques and how it been adopted in industry. The quality techniques selected are Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality Management and Six Sigma. The study is conducted by distributing survey sheets to managers of the companies involved in collaborating with UniMAP during students’ internship program. The list of the company was obtained from Centre of industrial Collaboration. There were 83 respondents from the industries and all has been used to be analyzed for the results. The questionnaires are divided into three sections. First section is for companies which use Lean manufacturing, second section is for companies which use Total Quality Management and third question is for companies which use Six Sigma. Via this study, the most implemented technique is Total Quality Management. From the total respondents, 46 of them are using Total Quality Management, 23 using Lean Manufacturing while 14 are using Six Sigma. The techniques have been identified to be having difference in the concept and management. The results of the surveys are indicated in the form of graph. The questions were constructing based on what has been discussed in the Literature Review.
