dc.description.abstract | Inhaler is one of the medical treatments that can be used to manage asthmatic symptom
which is available in market. Pressurized Metered Dose Inhaler (PMDI) is suitable used
for asthma patient to prevent and relieve the asthma symptoms by delivering the Inhaled
Pharmaceutical Aerosols (IPA) to the desired area. It is portable and ready to use
instantly. Spacer is used with inhaler device to expanse and mix the IPA with air before
it is inhaled. However, the capability of delivering IPA to the desired area remains
unsolved which inhaling efficiency is relatively low. According information from
doctors had shown that different patient’s with age and gender caused the amount of
medication being inhaled with using spacer is different. Airway passage in mouth-throat
is depends on abilities to inhale. Idea of Automatic Adjustment System will be use to
solve the problem. This system are using Peripheral Interface Controller (PIC)
microcontroller to automatic adjust a fan speed. It is depend on capability of patient to
inhale where the signal is detected by air flow sensor. The pre-programmed mode was
designed based on different age of patient to control percentage of IPA delivery. | en_US |
