This project is to design and develop a lavatory water hose. From the design and development phase of problem identification, it is identified that the current placement of the lavatory hose is not fully and ergonomically designed which causes unhygienic issues. This project scope includes the design process and methodology such as Quality Function Deployment. It is conducted to identify customer requirements. Based on customer requirements, the concept generation and selection has been carried out to finalize the design concept. The final concept of retractable mechanism is selected and improved for detailed drawing and fabrication of prototype. With the retractable mechanism imply in the product which is able to mount the handheld water bidet in a circular reel, the user will be able to use the handheld water bidet easily. This product is easy to use, easy to be installed, and it provides storage for the hose for hygienic purposes. The placement of the product is further analyzed with the consideration of the ergonomic and human factor. In the later stage of the project the manufacturing and material selection is analyzed and the cost is compare with current lavatory hose. Marketability and utilization and future recommendation is conducted at the end of this project.en_US
