A screw also known as fastener is used to connect two or more the various parts of an assembly together. This study focuses on bending analysis of screw thread connection with nut having size M12 for the application at road barrier stand .Analytical method of finite element was used in this analysis through CATIA's software. The suitable mesh found from the convergence study was 0.5mm, and then the value was in the analysis to seek out bending stress in the screw thread connections with nut that are normally used at road barrier stands. From the analysis result, bending stress equal to 2.41x108N/m2 occurred at the connections with maximum load equal to 240 Newton. Then the improvement design of the screw thread connection had been made to reduce stress that happened at angle between thread. Result from improvement design of screw thread connections, shows that the stress value obtained is 2.37x108 N/m2 with the same load applied. In conclusion the bending stress at screw thread connection is reduced after improvement of the design has been done.en_US
