This project presents the idea of
using the switched reluctance motor (SRM)
as an alternative to previously used drives, in
white good and other industrial applications.
In order to show the advantage of the SRM,
the SRM is described explaining how it works
and why it is a better option. The main focus
of project is the role of the controller. The
fuzzy logic controller is to be used to control
the SRM drive. The simulated performance of
SRM drive system is presented to analyze
the effect of fixed value of turn -off angle on
transient and steady state performance of the
drive in terms of speed, current and torque
response. The advantages inherent in fixed
turn-off angle control scheme are
emphasized.
