Pneumatic tire is a very complex composite structure that comprises of different materials with various physical and mechanical properties and its computer simulation is still a challenging task in tire and automotive industries. This paper explains the development of a finite element model for the modeling of 175/70R13 passenger car tire under inflation pressure and the approach of rim fitment analysis to determine the contact stress of tire and rim. The constitutive models Mooney-Rivlin and Yeoh are used in the finite element analysis (FEA). Meshing of the axisymmetric tire layout is done using HyperMesh software and the analysis is carried out using Abaqus software. The accuracy and reliability of the results obtained by the two models are confirmed by a convergence study.en_US
