This research is to investigate how far the influence on mechanical properties and microstructure of varying magnesium-aluminum alloy using CO2 molding process. Three samples with different composition were prepared into casting method and determine its properties. Main parameter used in this process is varying composition between magnesium and aluminum. This present investigation deals with preparing magnesium alloy from a mixture of magnesium and aluminum in three different compositions which Mg 75wt% Al 25wt%, Mg 85wt% Al 15wt% and Mg 90wt% Al 10wt%.. This investigation was divided into two stages. In the first stage, the magnesium alloy was melt in electric furnace. The melting was done at 750 °C whereas the ingot of aluminum was melt first then magnesium ingot was added. The second part of this investigation involved evaluation of microstructure and properties of each alloy in as cast and heat-treated conditions. Mechanical properties that will be consider, which are of major concern, included tensile strength and hardness, while microstructure analysis.
