RFID Healthcare Item Tracking System (HITS)

Abstract

Item Tracking System is an important potential application of RFID inside hospital. Efficiency is alwalys an important issue in hospital environment, and HITS allows for streamlining of hospital workflow. The basis for HITS, the tracking system is made to be effective in dealing with searching of item and equipment inside hospital during an emergency. And because tags are rewritable, the cost of maintaining HITS is low. The direction is that RFID technology is going to make HITS a viable addition to hospitals and healthcare industry.
