dc.description.abstract | Many research data showed that there is financial due to work stress in the United States companies ranging between USD100 to 300 thousand per year. Job stress also runs at educational institutions, which will be quite vulnerable to the occurrence of job stress especially among teachers that specializes in handling of students with disabilities, both physically and mentally. In the running of professional activities, they are very prone to job stress. This study aimed to test the effectiveness of breathing-relaxation training through Java gamelan music to reduce job stress level among school teachers. Design of this research uses quasi experimental design with only one group, namely the experiment group which involves three teachers from public mental retardation school in Yogyakarta as subjects. Each teachers had followed eight breathing-relaxation training sessions, and the scores were compared for each training session. The data was analyzed using Friedman test which is a non-parametric technique that analyzes the data with repeated measurements. Results of this study show a significant influence of breathing relaxation training through Java gamelan music to reduce job stress level of teachers working with mental retardation students. The results of the analysis is chi-square = 19,065, df = 7, has p = 0,008, which means the hypothesis have been received. | en_US |
