Grey oyster mushroom (P. sajor-caju) is a white-rot fungi which belongs to the group of oyster mushroom, the second highest mushroom that cultivated in the world after button mushroom. These type of mushroom can be mostly found grown in large quantity especially in the nature with damp area. Some believes that if something is stressed out, it can produce better performance with good results. Thus, this study was conducted to identify the effect of various physical stimulants on the mycelium development morphology of grey oyster mushroom (Pleurotus sajor-caju).The parameters investigated were the mycelium growth of the grey oyster mushroom and the area of colourless zone in CMC agar. There was no significant different (P>0.05) observed in the mycelium growth rate in PDA while mycelium growth in substrate bags showed some significant differences among the treatments applied. In conclusion, none of the physical stimulants and control can be considered to enhance mycelium growth for both in-vitro and in-vitro studies.en_US
