Abstract: EPS geofoam was identifying as the best material of choice for geotechnical engineering. The characteristic of EPS geofoam is approximately 1% from the weight of soil. The objective of this research is to study the effect of groundwater level and to analysis the effect of slope gradient for road embankment treated by EPS-Geofoam. Parameter was analyse by using Finite Element Method (FEM) and Limit Equilibrium Method (LEM). The road embankment treated by EPS geofoam will be evaluate based on different value of slope gradient ratio such as 1:1, 1:1.5, 1:2, 1:2.5 and 1:3. Besides that’s, for this research also includes about the different depth of groundwater levels. The permanent traffic loading used in this study was 15kN/m² with using the EPS geofoam that have density 0.22 kN/m³. Result shows at the slope gradient ratio 1:1 will shows the most effective for the settlement. While, for the slope gradient ratio 1:3 shows the highest value factor of safety. The conclusion is the slope stability using EPS geofoam for the road embankment will increase the factor of safety.
