Abstract: The title of this research is to study of effect on flange section on shear capacity of triangular profiled web girder using finite element method. A three-dimensional finite element model is proposed by using LUSAS software and compare to other related research. A parametric study was carried out regarding the flange dimensions and the thickness also the length of the flange. A triangular web profile (TPWG) steel section is a section made of two flanges connected to a slender web. The web and the flanges can be produced from different steel grades depending on design requirements. The flanges width and thickness is determined based on the depth of section by referring to the class section classification in Eurocode. The web is corrugated at regular interval into triangular shape along the length of the beam. This paper describes an analysis study on the shear behavior of TPWG compared to the conventional flat plate girder. (CFWG). The sizing involved is 500mmx1000mm with the thickness of the web section is are kept constant which is 3mm. It was observed that the TPWG section had a higher shear capacity compared to CPWG and the flange section do not contribute significance influence to the ultimate shear strength of the TPWG.
