Building projects involve interaction among many different participants such as client /financier, consultants, architect, engineer, quantity surveyor, general contractor, subcontractors and material suppliers. Coordination of resources, time and communication entail full cooperation and collaboration between project participants. The success or failure of a project is inextricably linked with the conflicts that the project team encounters during the building project stages. Therefore, this study explores the causes and types of conflicts occur during design and construction stages among three main participants in building project which are contractors, architects and consultants and also proposed approaches on how to manage the conflicts. In order to identify the conflicts that always occur in a building project, set of questionnaire is prepared. In the questionnaire, there will be two main parts that respondent need to clarify, which are the (I) conflicts/ problem part and (II) solution part. The data from the questionnaire survey is analyzed by SPSS analysis. To deal with the arises conflicts, the study proposes strategies that could reduce effectively the occurrences of conflicts in building projects. The study find out that factors causing the conflicts are in various form. The factors are related to role function when parties fail to perform as expected. However, the study establish on how to manage the conflict arise during the design and construction stage. the study proposes the framework as a strategy that could reduce effectively the incident of conflicts in building project.en_US
