Abstract: This paper presents the study of food waste composting with rice straw ash. The rice straw is been burned into 3 different temperature which are 300°C, 400°C and 500°C. The ratio of the compost is 1:0.5:1 which represent 1kg of food waste, 0.5kg of goat dung and 1kg of rice straw ash that need to be compost. The objective of this study is to study and determine the optimum temperature of rice straw ash composting process, to determine the quality of compost by using different temperature of rice straw ash and to assess the physical and chemical properties of the good compost. The compost period is 24 days which every 3 days sample is taken to be assessed. The sample are physical and chemically assess which undergoes pH test, moisture content test, C/N ratio test, and nutrient test in the compost which is nitrogen, phosphorus and kalium. The pH obtained during the composting process for FW+RSA (300°C) is 5.0 to 7.8, for FW+RSA (400°C) is in the range of 5.4 to 7.5 and for FW+RSA (500°C) is in the range of 6 to 7.8. The temperature recorded during composting process for FW+RSA (300°C) is 31°C to 45°C, for FW+RSA (400°C) is in the range of 35°C to 47°C and for FW+RSA (500°C) is in the range of 36°C to 46°C. For the moisture content of the 3 bin is 45% to 48% to the end of the composting process. The NPK values for FW+RSA (300°C) 2%-3.5%, 1.5%-3.1% and 1.5% to 3.2%. For FW+RSA (400°C), the value for NPK obtained is 5%-11%, 5.4% to 10.9% and 6% to 10.5%. As for the value NPK for FW+RSA (500°C) is in the range of 16% to 20.1%, 17% to 21.3% and 19% to 21.8%. The range of C/N ratio for the 3 bin at the end of the composting process is 22 to 25. Result and data will be collected and analyse in order to achieve that had been chosen.
