Abstract: Introduction of European standards to construction is a significant event and soon it will be introduced to the Malaysian construction industries as well. The ten design standards, known as Eurocodes, will affect all design and construction activities as current British Standards for design arc due to the withdrawn in 2010. This will also effecting reinforced concrete designing as the British Standards BS 8110 will be replaced by IN 1992 Eurocode 2: Design of concrete structures. So, this project intended to ease the transition from using the [IS 8110 to Eurocoxde 2 more easily by developing a user friendly software using Microsoft Excel to simplify and assist in design and calculation of reinforced concrete elements, especially beams and slats. This project also to get is more accurate and economic results in designing without compromising the safety of the structures .This is because basically the procedure, in designing reinforced concrete elements requires numerous calculations. So, by using the spreadsheet, it is hoped that it will solve problem related to equations and formulas .In a short time which will make the design easier. The calculations done by the software was compared to manual calculations to ensure that it will produce accurate results. Results show that this software fulfills the research objectives which are to develop a user friendly spreadsheet in designing reinforced concrete elements, mainly beam and slab, in compliance with Eurocode-2.
