Abstract: A Spagnum moss has been identified as an excellent adsorption of oil and has been used by many big oil conglomerates worldwide. The moss has an adsorption capacity of more that 90% of its dry weight. The design structure of the moss seemed to facilitates phenomenal adsorption of oil. Spillage and disposal of oil has always been a strong and recalcitrant issue amongst environmentalist due to their polluting nature of the oil. The moss may provide a viable and attractive approach to alleviate pollution occurring from oil spillage and fall-out from domestic and services activities.
