Abstract: PALM-Sorbent is very effective for removal of Cr (VI) from industrial effluent. Its minimal pretreatment includes chemical modification with H2SO4 impregnation ratio of 1:1, followed by overnight heat treatment at 150 celcius. Maximum adsorption of Cr (VI) at can be achieved at pH 1.5 with adsorption capacity of 185.01 mg g-1.
Description: Naimah Ibrahim and her team won silver for Palm-Sorbent: Acid-Impregnated Palm Fibre for Sorption of Cr (VI) from Chrome Plating Effluent. ITEX 2007, 18th - 20th May 2007 was held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Kuala Lumpur.
