Abstract: Environmental issues are always on top of any agendas during meeting, conference and dialogue with regard to sustainability of pristine environment due to their short-term and long-term impact to country and economy at large. Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) have been earmarked high on the list of pollutants with the most damaging consequences to the environments if not treated exhaustively. With the strong and current emphasis on agriculture as one of the important engine of growth in Malaysia, it is envisaged that an increase in agricultural activities would follw suit for the next 5-10 yers. The increase of such activities would also increase the used of fertilizers, pesticides and plant hormones. It is quite logical and expected that the risk of POPs making their way into rivers, stream and domestic drinking water is very high. A more efficient technology is required to alleviate, if not completely prevent POPs fallout into water system. A technology has been developed to remove POPs from water system using suitably design novel MOZZ adsorbent.
