Abstract: Tomography technique was developed as a diagnostic tool in the medical area since the early of 1970’s but the history started with the development of X-ray machine by Roentgen on 8th November 1895. Up to current technology, several generations of computed tomography machines have been developed. Instead of medical applications the tomography technique has been famously applied in industry which is known as process tomography. Both of this field involve the equipments which are sensitive, high risk to life and also very expensive. Other than that, the design is bulky and it is impossible for the students or new researches who involve in this field to have a look on the inside design, the operation and last but not least the algorithm involved in the system. The overall aim of this paper is to share the experience of using Computed Tomography Virtual Lab software that has been developed by Tomography Imaging Research Group of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UNIMAP) in process tomography research.
