dc.description.abstract | Harumanis mango is a popular variety, well known for its fragrance and sweetness. It has adapted well in Perlis, Malaysia. Harumanis mango had become the iconic product of the state. Hence, the quality and productivity of Harumanis mango should be maintained. Plant chlorophyll content is the major parameter that was identified to be related to the health level of the crops. To date, farmers still rely manually on their conventional method and experiences, in which leaves pigment was extracted with acetone or alcohol and tested by spectrophotometer or HPLC to determine the plant chlorophyll content. This method is not consistent and time consuming. The conventional method is complicated and requires higher operation cost because it involved laboratory procedure. This paper investigates the issue of mapping of distribution of SPAD value of Harumanis mango leaves in greenhouse. The correlation of SPAD value and chlorophyll content of Harumanis mango leaves were presented to determine the relationship between both parameters. A mapping of SPAD value of Harumanis mango leaf by using the ArcGIS determines the distribution of SPAD value of the area. This method provides a consistent and easy-to-use solution in agriculture sector to determine the distribution of chlorophyll content of the crops. Mapping of SPAD values of matured Harumanis mango leaves shows that there is a variability of chlorophyll content value of Harumanis mango leaves in a greenhouse. Leaves at the centre area (coordinate from 100015’30”E to 100016’0”E) have lower chlorophyll content while leaves at the right side of the greenhouse (coordinate 100017’30”E) have the higher chlorophyll content | en_US |
